Start the setup process indoors near your main router. This ensures a strong signal and successful initial connection.
After the device is connected in the app, you can install it outdoors within a strong Wi-Fi signal area. You can check the Wi-Fi signal strength in the app under Settings.
(2) Antenna Installation
Make sure the antenna is securely attached before starting setup.
(3) Location Permission (Required for BT Mode Setup)
Ensure Location Services are enabled on your phone and permission is granted to the O-KAM app.
Location access is required by iOS/Android for BT device discovery during setup.
(4) Wi-Fi Network Status
Make sure your Wi-Fi network is working properly and has internet access.
Do not use a Guest network during setup, as it may block communication between the device and your router.
Temporarily disable mobile data on your phone to ensure it remains connected to the selected Wi-Fi network during setup.
(5) 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz Wi-Fi
The device supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
For outdoor installation, 2.4 GHz generally provides more stable coverage due to longer range and better wall penetration.
Most modern dual-band routers combine 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one Wi-Fi name. No special router settings are required for setup.
If setup does not succeed, simply move the device closer to the main router before trying again.
5 GHz offers faster speeds but shorter range, which may affect outdoor performance.
(6) Wi-Fi Name and Password
Confirm that you entered the correct Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.
Passwords are case-sensitive.Avoid extra spaces when copying or typing the password.Avoid special characters in the Wi-Fi name or password if possible.
