Setup & care

A First-Setup Checklist for Your Nafnti Feeder

Agree on the intended owner, helper and care plan, then use the matched hardware/app instructions and record only setup tasks actually completed.

Separate four jobs: identify the right instructions, prepare the device, check the mounting arrangement, and test the location. This checklist helps you organize them. Use the instructions for your actual configuration for charging, assembly, pairing and fastening details.

Identify the configuration first

Use Find the app and setup guide to match the device and app. Keep the supplied parts and instructions together. If a part or guide does not match the selected package, resolve that before attempting assembly.

Use your model below to find its app and Wi-Fi band. For mounting and charging, follow the instructions supplied with that feeder.

For a gift, agree on the intended setup first

Use the gift-readiness and handover worksheet to agree on the recipient's interest, preferred phone, installation permission and routine-care plan. Keep the intended camera-account owner, invited helper and person responsible for any optional billing as separate roles. Do not create an account, accept a plan or pair a camera on someone's behalf merely to complete a checklist.

The table below shows the apps and Wi-Fi bands for the feeders currently offered in our store.

V5, V7, V9, V11 and Adjustable Camera Feeder use VicoNature on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. V8 in Blue or Green and V10 use O-kam Pro on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Follow the current app prompts; sharing an app does not mean different feeders use the same hardware steps.

Prepare the unit using its guide

Check the required charging method, permitted conditions and initial setup steps in the matching instructions. Use the stated power arrangement; this checklist does not specify a common charger rating or charging time for every feeder.

Follow that guide's app-pairing steps. Do not substitute a generic reset-button timing or another model's setup screen. Confirm basic viewing or recording only where those functions are supported by this configuration and account.

For the matching power/port and card questions, use charging by model and card compatibility. Do not supply a universal charging range, insertion/removal rule, reset timing or format operation from this general checklist.

If the device has already been paired by a helper, establish the matched ownership and access route before changing anything. The family-access reference distinguishes inviting a helper, ending their accepted access and sending a saved file. Logging out, deleting the device and resetting it are not interchangeable handover instructions.

Check the mount and working space

Mounting option Confirm before using it
Pole The actual bracket and compatible pole dimensions, fastening method and stability
Wall That the mounting kit and wall construction are suitable; use the appropriate fixings described for the kit and surface
Tree or post That the supplied or approved fastening method is suitable, can be checked and does not depend on an improvised attachment
Railing or another surface Explicit compatibility and a stable installation; do not infer suitability from a photograph of another feeder

Lay out the parts and read the sequence before attaching the feeder. Leave room to open, remove and reinstall the relevant components. Check any permitted cable routing and access for charging. Do not add unsupported extensions or assume an accessory shown in a listing is included in your package.

Rehearse removal and refilling with the container empty. Follow the kit's instructions to secure it; this general checklist cannot supply a universal pole diameter, screw size, tightening force or mounting height.

Test, secure, then recheck

Use the before-mounting connection checklist. Once the selected location passes the checks you need, complete the permitted mounting procedure and repeat the view and connection tests.

Keep a practical handover note

Once the authorized, matched setup tasks have actually been completed, record the configuration, guide reference, intended site, actual app/version, verified tasks and open issues. Agree who will do the next refill, cleaning and permitted charging, and how they will find the matching instructions. Keep a source for the current purchase/return terms without copying account or payment details into a shared note.

Leave tasks marked unperformed when they have not been done. A prepared package, a paired camera, a working live view and a verified saved file are different milestones. Do not describe the gift as fully set up because one of them succeeded.

Keep the guide available for later cleaning and charging. Identify which parts can be washed and which must remain dry before the first cleaning session; the whole camera assembly must not be treated as a washable food container.

For an unresolved configuration or missing part, use the Nafnti contact page to ask for the matching instructions. For choosing the location itself, return to Where to place a bird feeder camera.
